NFL Gamecock Roundup: Alshon Cleared to Play

- ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Alshon Jeffery should be returning to action for the Bears this Sunday, after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring injury. Given that every single one of the Bears' drives against the Seattle Seahawks ended in a punt, an offensive weapon like Alshon is desperately needed.

- With the Minnesota Vikings headed to Denver this Sunday to take on the Broncos, they'll have to deal with the ever-present challenge that is Peyton Manning. Even with Manning's numbers down this year, Captain Munnerlyn knows it'll take everything the Vikings have to rattle the future hall of famer. “I don’t know if he can be rattled," said Munnerlyn. "But we definitely want to try to get pressure and try to get hits.”

- Munnerlyn was also very complimentary to rookie cornerback Trae Waynes, who performed well while going up against Philip Rivers this past Sunday. “He did a great job,” Munnerlyn said. “He came and competed. That’s all you can ask for from young guys. … He had that swagger on himself."

- There was some concern after this Sunday's Tampa Bay-Houston game that Johnathan Joseph may have been concussed. Joseph's head was pounded into the ground late in the game, but he passed the concussion protocol tests with flying colors, and isn't going to be limited in practice. “I don’t have a concussion,” Joseph said. “My head kind of got driven into the turf. I had a light little headache so I came to the sideline and kind of shook it off. But in the protocol they have to take you inside and examine you.”
