-Well, so much for the possibility of San Francisco 49ers running back Mike Davis getting carries last night. After plenty of sports talk shows and reports indicated that Carlos Hyde wouldn't be healthy enough to play, he ended up starting the game, with Reggie Bush as his main backup. Of course, they only carried the ball 15 times in the Seattle Seahawks 20-3 drubbing of San Fran, so there wouldn't have been many opportunities for Davis to run the ball anyways.
Adding further insult to injury, Bruce Ellington was relegated strictly to kick returns, though he did a fine job, accruing 73 yards on three returns. As the 49ers offense continues to sputter and stall, it may be just a matter of time before we start seeing the bench players get more and more chances to win some jobs.
