NFL Gamecock Tidbits: Stewart and Swearinger Survive Divisional Round

Only one Gamecock emerged out of divisional matchup weekend with any stats, and it was the "quarterback" of the Broncos secondary himself, Darian Stewart. Stewart was second on the team in tackles, racking up six big ones in Denver's come-from-behind win.

Stewart won't be the only Gamecock in either of the Conference Championship games, though. D.J. Swearinger will alongside the Cardinals as they take on the Carolina Panthers. Swearinger didn't have any defensive stats in the Cardinals win over Seattle, but he'll make it harder for Gamecock fans who share an allegiance with the Panthers.

Oh wait, technically Damiere Byrd is still on the Panthers practice squad. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding practice squad members being on the sidelines, but he shows up, then it becomes really hard to decide who to root for. Why must my heart be torn between two Gamecocks?!

Wait, D.J. wore WHAT to the game on Saturday?

DAMN, that jacket is tight! Okay, I'll be rooting for DEEEEEEEEEE-JAAAAAAAAAY in this one. Sorry, Damiere "Daimyo" Byrd. Best of luck to you and your Shoguns. I mean, Panthers.
