Reasons To Feel Good About The ECU Game

By Rixon Lane

After a 24-point shellacking at the hands of Texas A&M on Thursday, Gamecock fans are desperately searching for things to be happy about.

I am here to help.

Here are all the reasons that South Carolina fans shouldn't be worried about Saturday's game against East Carolina.

East Carolina has won 15 games in a row when rushing for 200 yards...

…but after seeing what Kenny Hill did, there's no way the Pirates will try to run the ball.

The Pirates have only won five games against current members of the SEC...

…all five came against South Carolina, but let's not get bogged down in details.

South Carolina is 24-14 against the AAC, including last year's win over Central Florida...

…and East Carolina ain't going to the Fiesta Bowl.

Wide receiver Justin Hardy has caught at least two passes in 37 consecutive games...

…a streak that began against South Carolina in 2011. So it's gotta end Saturday, right?

The last time Dylan Thompson faced ECU, he threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns...

…in his first career start.

Steve Spurrier has never started a football season 0-2...

…and that includes his days at Florida. As a player.

South Carolina hasn't started a season 0-2 since the 1999 season...

…and this team plays Furman and South Alabama, so there's almost no way that will happen again.

There, don't you feel better?
